Zuora VP, CSO Pritesh Parekh Wins T.E.N. 2017 Information Security Executive of the Year Award in Financial Services

T.E.N., a technology and information security executive networking and relationship-marketing firm, honored finalists and winners Wednesday evening at the 2017 ISE® North America Leadership Summit and Awards Gala at the Marriott Marquis Chicago in Chicago, Illinois.

The ISE® North America awards recognize both information security executives and project teams for outstanding achievements in risk management, data asset protection, compliance, privacy and network security. Award program participants are located across the U.S. and Canada, and nominations were considered within four categories based on industry classification, including Academic/Public Sector, Commercial, Financial Services and Health Care.

We are very proud to say that our own Pritesh Parekh, VP, CSO of Zuora, was selected as the Information Security Executive® of the Year Award Winner in the Financial Services Category. He was in good company with his fellow award winners representing: Aetna, Comcast, Emory University, JP Morgan Chase & Co., Tractor Supply Company, and San Bernadino County Superintendent of Schools.

Pritesh joined Zuora in 2013, with 18 years of experience in building and managing enterprise security programs, the last 12 years of which were spent leading security for Cloud platforms. He has extensive experience in Cloud Security, IoT Security, Application Security, Compliance, Data Protection, Fraud Protection, Security Architecture and Risk Management for Financial Institutions, SaaS & Cloud Providers. He is an active speaker within the security industry and a contributor to such publications as Dark Reading, Security Current, and CSO Online.

Some highlights of Pritesh’s accomplishments at Zuora include:

  • Unblocking multi-million dollar enterprise deals by building a world-class security program.
  • Embedding an organization-wide security culture by creating buy-in, building partnerships, starting routine processes, and maintaining ease-of-use across the business.
  • Accomplishing continuous compliance with a repeated and automated processes: PCI DSS Level 1, ISO 27001, SOC1 Type II, SOC2 Type II, SOC3 and HIPAA compliance.
  • Rolling out an organization-wide Security Awareness Program that included customers, partners, contractors, and employees.

Because of Pritesh’s influence, all functions at Zuora (engineering, technical operations, Sales, Legal, Product, Finance, HR and others) now integrate with Security as part of their routine processes.
